kung fu rabbit game
System: Nintendo 3DS
Developer: Neko Entertainment
Release Date: February 20, 2014
Not to be confused with the Chinese movie of the same name that tried to derail the Kung Fu Panda franchise, Kung Fu Rabbit from the 3DS webshop is a platform game that focuses on hard control and sneaking up on enemies. You can easily defeat enemies by touching them when looking from behind (or from above in game mode). If players hit enemies, the level must be restarted. Players can slide on walls and use them to double jump, giving them more freedom to move around the level.
With this simple premise, the game has a lot of well-designed levels, although the difficulty level is quite low. Once players know what they need to do to complete a level, finding the required resources will probably be the easiest part. The leveling system is fun, though it doesn't have enough features to give the game the edge it needs. This is not a game that many players struggled to finish after the first play session.
Graphically, the game looks good with visually pleasing depth effects, though sometimes too much can happen depending on the level. Carrots are used as a currency to buy upgrades and add collectibles to the game, each level has a golden carrot and 3 normal carrots. Musically, it also has a pretty decent soundtrack.
Overall Kung Fu Rabbit plays well, well presented and programmed. Unfortunately, it doesn't have enough features, challenges, or popular characters to allow players to progress through the levels. It's a pretty budget game for an online store, but with so many games to play, it's hard to recommend.
Score: 62/100
Class: C
