Dead or Alive: Dimensions is a sort of compilation game that offers the stories of many other Dead or Alive episodes told through cutscenes and battles, more fighters than any other game and thousands of different game modes. For me there are too many issues with the game that keep it from being as good as it could be. First the problem with the series; Aside from his ability to throw inventive soot at enemies and deal them extra damage, Dead Or Alive's moveset and system feels pointless and uninteresting to me.

In the main mode, the characters' stories are told through lengthy cutscenes, making each chapter last at least 20 minutes or more, with a total of 8-10 battles that can be completed in less than 5 minutes without any cutscenes. Unless you're really into the story of Warriors Alive or Dead, you won't like the poor voice acting, dramatization, and plot combined with the character's non-moving lips and confusion as to what's even going on.

The arcade mode is pretty cool, but unlike the normal arcade mode, there are 6 different difficulty zones (all very easy) that face the same fighters. There's a wide variety of stages and a few other game modes, but compared to many other standard fighting games, Dead Or Alive: Dimensions is lacking. I also couldn't find where to change the game's overall difficulty, which was disappointing as I didn't lose a single fight in my review.


Graphically, the game looks pretty good for a handheld version, but there are a few minor issues, such as: B. the mouth not moving when the characters speak and the strange movement of cutscenes. Of all the characters introduced in the game, none seemed particularly original or memorable, even from previous episodes I've played. The music behind the battles and cutscenes is generic and almost difficult to comment on, but it's the awful voice acting that lets the game down even more.

Overall, Dead Or Alive: Dimensions is a bit messy as a fighting game; These are the two main modes, both have major issues that let them down in terms of player satisfaction. There are many other ways the game could have represented the stories of characters from previous games much better, and the inclusion of a default arcade mode definitely should have been a priority.
