Casual sports games are usually easy to skip without feeling guilty, often with kid-friendly versions of the sports they represent. However, in the case of baseball, this can be a good thing, as baseball simulation games take ages to complete due to 18 innings per game. With its arcade style, this game reduces and simplifies baseball while retaining the select elements that make it fun.

Players can choose from teams with different shooting, playing and fielding skills, or create their own with a variety of customization options. When choosing the type of shots players play, more difficult shots require more precision and timing. Once on the field, players control the type of field, as well as every throw and catch. The controls and game mechanics work well, but can feel a bit primitive at times.

The real problem is the complexity of the AI. Depending on the team chosen, players can hit over 20 home runs or none at all by the end of the first inning. In tournament mode, both of these variables occur at different stages of the tournament. Without a balance of difficulty, it is very difficult to enjoy a sports game, although sometimes everything goes smoothly, there can be interesting moments. Graphically, the game resembles a cartoonish Mii, which works against it, as the animation is intended for a younger audience.

Overall, Arc Style Baseball 3D is better than some players might expect from a casual sports game, but not good enough to be enjoyable. After a few tournaments or exhibition matches, players will see everything the game has to offer, and without a seasonal mode or deep gameplay, players are unlikely to return again and again.
