Bart vs. The Space Mutants, which can only be described as one of the worst licenses of the third generation, has managed not only to undermine its potential as a Simpsons game, but also as a video in general. Players control Bart on a mission to hide, destroy, or spray the purple stuff in Springfield. Although the elements of the game appear pink, the gameplay will soon free you from this deficiency.
There are many little mutants to avoid as you explore Springfield. Bart's movement is slow, his jump is intense, and his batting area is slightly different than expected. All of this leads to frustration when trying to get somewhere. Not to mention that in order to progress in the game, Bart has to jump over window sills, phone booths, and other things that appear in the background but are actually solid.
The game looks great, but it's almost too much. Few colors are used and few outlines are represented correctly in the animation. The same piece of music is played over and over again, and even though there are 5 levels, getting to the second is very difficult, Bart can only make 2 clicks before losing his life.
In general, Bart vs. As simple as it is, any game with competent controls excels at 5 levels of mundane and unfair exploration. This is easily one of the worst Master System titles.
